CLEANING
Congratulations! You have selected premium vinyl windows of the highest quality. Gilkey windows are manufactured with durable vinyl that will never pit, peel, rot or corrode. The color in Gilkey windows is blended right into the vinyl, so it will never scratch off, you can throw away your paint brush!
To keep your windows looking new, just wipe dirt off with a damp cloth. If necessary, a nonabrasive liquid soap or detergent {i.e. Lux or Palmolive} can be used to remove stubborn dirt.

TO CLEAN DOUBLE HUNG WINDOWS
Unlock the window, raise the lower sash approximately four inches (Note: sashes are the portion of the window that move. In a double hung window, there are two sashes that move up and down), push both tilt latch buttons towards the center and gently pull the sash toward you. After you have cleaned the window, slowly let the sash tilt all the way forward until it rests on the sill.
Next slide the upper sash down approximately four inches and push both tilt latch buttons toward the center. Gently pull the sash toward you.
Clean the sash and return it to its original position. Return the bottom sash to its original position and lock the window.

TO CLEAN CASEMENT WINDOWS
Crack the window open 90 degrees and clean the outside.

TO CLEAN HORIZONTAL SLIDER WINDOWS
The inside sash can be removed by sliding it to the center of the window frame, lifting the sash up to the top of the frame and gently pulling the bottom of the sash toward you over the slider track.
The outer sash can now be cleaned in place. To return the inside sash, lift it into position at the top of the frame and direct the bottom of the sash into the slider track.
