We had Gilkey service our Gilkey windows that we originally purchased years ago. The service / repair was seamless and a positive experience from initial call to the completed repair. The Service Technician who performed the work at our home (Mohammad D.) was prompt, represented the company in a professional and positive manner and completed the work timely and effectively. I recommend Gilkey for any replacement window requirements; their windows and their service are both very good.

We had Gilkey in Palatine replace 11 more windows with new Gilkey windows. We are very happy with the windows installed 10 years ago and the additional 11 installed this week are great as well. Our sales guy was low key and answered all our questions. Can't say enough about their installation crew. They are experts. Installed all 11 in one day with no problems and left the house spotless. Recommend them highly.

Update: Eventually, I spoke to the installation manager and they agreed to attempt the repair again. This morning glass was changed and looks great. Still gave them four stars instead of five, due to initial issue and I had to complain to get it resolved. Team this morning was very professional.

I have a Gilkey window that the seam has broken and had them come look. They agreed and said they would replace it. Three times they have scheduled the install and three times they claim they “ordered the wrong glass.” The installer who finally called me this afternoon to tell me said they knew this morning they did not have the glass but never bothered to call me. Wasted a whole day waiting for them.

11 windows, sliders and double hung. One needed to be completely rebuilt because of water damage. The entire process was excellent. They listened to our needs, bargined with us a bit, and sent the Marlo and Peter Install crew. The crew was incredible. Artists! We had some gilkey windows in our house that probably were installed 25 years ago. They fixed a leaking seal on our patio slider and fixed 2 screens without a problem. Tney updated the whole house trim, doors and all. Such a good experience!

Marcin and Adam installed our new patio door. They removed the old window and cut the opening for the door. They did a wonderful job. All the interior and exterior trim work looks great. I would definitely recommend them.

We had 6 windows replaced and thought we had to prepare for them. We did what we could do. We were sure we would have to clean up. But let me tell you that they came on time and went to work and had the windows in at no time. Brandon and Brittany were like super heroes. ""The windows were in in no time, there was no mess to clean up., and they explained how to open them to clean the outside. Which was easy. The windows were the same temperature as the wall next to them. And the installation made it look like the windows were installed during the building of the house. You could not tell they were replacement windows at all. The clean and caulking were just perfect. We are in construction and know quality work when we see it.

I just had 10 windows replaced in my home by Gilkey. I love their windows. They make the original windows look wimpy. Every one of Gilkey's windows is custom made for your home. These windows are solid and thicker than original windows and they operate very smoothly. They look great too. Another thing I really like is that Gilkey hires their own installers. They do not contract out installation. I love this because if you have any problem at all, Gilkey will handle it for you. My installers, Marcin and Ziggy brought my windows this morning, arrived on time, and were very friendly. Marcin showed me the windows' special features and showed me how to use them. They did a great job both inside and outside and cleaned up afterward. They even used caulking that exactly matched my siding outside, as I had requested. I highly recommend Gilkey for replacement windows, especially if you want a window that is made here in the USA from start to finish, and look great!

The Installation team, Brian and Alex, were professional, courteous, and motivated to complete placement of all 15 new windows. Installation from the interior was complete the first day with trim and sealant completed the second day. Access inside our home was respectful of our time and belongings as we proceeded to clear their way of furnishings and wall hangings ahead of their progress. Only one opening was made at a time, minimizing temperature changes inside.

Everything is expensive these days, but as in the past, quality cost a lot more. We will never recoup the cost, but we are very happy with the result. This 26-year-old modular home not only is more comfortable with no drafts or heat build-up, but feels new again with clear, solid windows that we can easily maintain. And we have peace of mind with our investment given the outstanding warranty that other companies could not match.

Timing from order to install is a disappointment at 161 days from September to February, even with consideration for wet or extremely cold weather. The estimate was 12-14 weeks. The emails sent to report progress in production was confusing and not particularly accurate. We were contacted 10 days prior to installation for a date; however, a text or phone call 1-2 days before would have given us confirmation that the weather was acceptable, and we could clear furnishings for access to the windows from inside. We expected a final inspection from Justin, the install manager, however, after re-reading the original contract, no such inspection is indicated. Fortunately, my husband and I have building construction background and DID spot an issue; however, we are not versed in the particulars of the product's design.

The issue….back windows did not have the LowE 366 coatings, but were the same as all the others at LowE 270. So be sure to inspect the glass stamp for what is contracted. Issue is to be resolved with replacement of the glass units, hopefully in a timely manner.

Meanwhile, we will enjoy our new Gilkey windows!

Marcin and Ziggy did an excellent job of replacing two sliding glass doors. They were on time, efficient, and respectful of my house. They cleaned up every bit of debris. I could not be more pleased withe work.

Brittany and Brandon were Great -8 windows installed last Sept. The house was significantly warmer over the winter. They work fast, are very polite and are pleasantly meticulous about cleaning up. Easy to work with and I appreciate a job well done!

The installation of our three new doors was completed on time with great skill and efficiency. I was impressed by Gilkey’s care to check measurements several times before ordering the doors and again before removing the old doors. Our technician took pains to ensure that existing molding was preserved, that the floors around the work area were protected, and that the house didn’t get too cold while he worked. Sills are neatly wrapped and caulked. All in all a job well done.

We needed a number of various size windows replaced. We had most of the various window company come by and provide quotes. Gilkey windows provided a good price for quality windows without pressure or games, which we liked very much.
The windows arrived around the specified time and the installer was very nice and professional. He was clear on what he was going to do and explained as he went along. He cleaned up after himself and completed the work in a reasonable amount of time. We were very pleased with the whole process.
