Gilkey Window Company makes a quality window and utilizes their own employees to install them without the pushy, high pressure sales tactics the competitors use.We replaced our poor quality, poorly installed Silver Line single hung windows, sliding glass door and fixed bathroom windows that our builder had a local lumber company install with 19 fiberglass casement windows, 1 fiberglass sliding glass door, 1 fixed glass fiberglass bathroom window, and 1 fixed glass vinyl bathroom window. We had 3.5 inch wood trim and new window sills installed. For the glass package we chose the Cardinal Glass double pane window with LoE366 coating and argon gas. My wife and I noticed immediately how quiet our rooms are now after the install and lack of drafts around the windows. Our sales consultant Scot spent about two hours with us in our house listening to our concerns with our existing windows and what we were looking for in replacement windows. During that visit he never tried to pressure us into an immediate sale. A few days after the visit he sent us a price quote for vinyl double hung windows, fiberglass casement windows, a sliding glass door and fixed glass bathroom windows which was good for 30 days. After Scot’s visit we went to the showroom to look at the windows in person. I had some questions about the install and the sales consultant I was speaking with didn’t know the answer so he brought out the installation manager to answer my questions. The install crew did an excellent job of removing the old windows and installing the new windows and door over a three day period. There was no damage to either the interior or exterior of our home. After they installed each window they cleaned up the minimal mess that was made. All the windows and door were installed with spray foam around the edges both inside and out. On the outside new J channel was installed along with metal trim coil. A couple of the screens showed up with minor tears and Gilkey replaced them within a week of our windows being installed.Overall I would highly recommend people at least consider Gilkey Window Company for replacement windows. In our case they weren’t the cheapest, but we were looking for a local window company that makes a high quality window, doesn’t use high pressure sales tactics, utilizes their own employees to install the windows, and provides post install warranty service/support if needed.
