These windows are lovely. The wooden frames around the windows are exactly the same size as the old so we do not need to do touch up paint except in a couple of dime size spots. The men cleaned up and there was no mess either inside or outside. They hauled the old windows away. I was very pleased with the service. We had 9 windows replaced.

Compared to my first install experience, which was disasterous to say the least, Richard and Bryan did an outstanding job! They were very careful of maneuvering the large picture windows in place leaving minimal damage.The financing department was very flexible with me getting payment to them which was very appreciated. Really gave that small town feeling of trust and understanding.The only nit pick I have is that the screens are different from the other windows and the 2 light sliders appear to have changed style since the first batch of installs a few years ago, which is a bit distracting.

I had Gilkey windows installed several years ago and have been extremely satisfied with their product. While washing the windows the other day I had a problem getting one of the windows back in place. I called Gilkey service, they walked me through fixing it but I was unable to fix it myself. They sent a service representative out within the hour and within 10 minutes he had fixed my window. In this day and age, I was amazed by the customer service and the wonderful service man that took care of my issue. I’m thankful I chose Gilkey for my window replacement.

We bought windows for our whole house a few years ago and we're happy with our salesperson, the installation crew and the office staff. At the time we could not afford another patio door and later regretted not paying. Gilley quoted us slightly more a few yrs later but not as much as I thought but remembered they had done our whole house. We had to wait fir our door which we knew because of supply chain but were called within 48 hrs and set up for next day when it came in. Looks beautiful and workmanship was top notch. Would highly recommend.

We replaced the front window of our house because it was the original window and needed to be changed. Neil our sales person did a great job in designing the front window so that we would have one main piece of glass and two Opening windows on each side. He also suggested the color and type of trim inside and outside on the window. The day of the installation the installers showed up on time, were very professional, took great care not to make a mess, and did a phenomenal job installing a window. It looks great! Very pleased with this whole experience and I recommend Gilkey windows highly! The only regret is we should’ve changed this window years ago.

I always do my due diligence before choosing a company to do anything for me. It came down to Gilkey and one other company. I chose Gilkey because I felt comfortable with their warranty and the fact they don’t use contractors to do their installs. I have only had these windows for a few days, so I can’t say how they will perform when it turns cold. I can say I believe they will be fine and they have totally transformed the look of our home. If I were selling my home, the curb appeal would definitely be a wow factor. They look great. The installer, Brian took his time and made sure everything was done right. My salesman was Tom Bush and he explained everything to us about the windows and made the purchase easy. I would recommend Gilkey to anyone wanting a quality made window.Jerry

Gilkey is a great company! The salesman, Bob Cohen, explained everything simply and showed clearly how Gilkey windows are better than Champion. Sherry in the office was easy to deal with too. The installers, Daniel and John, arrived right on time and did a tremendous job installing the doors and another crew did the windows, so the time to install everything was shortened. They cleaned up well, put our shades back up correctly and explained everything very clearly and did a perfect job!I cannot imagine any window company in the Tri-State area being better than Gilkey!

We chose Gilkey for several reasons. Their salesman, Tom Bush, was a down to earth, no pressure salesman. We priced 3 window companies and Gilkey had the most reasonable price by far. We have an English Tudor style house and wanted to keep diamond grid windows on a front portion of the house. After speaking with multiple window companies, Gilkey was 1 of only 2 that could provide what we wanted. The only hang up was the delay in getting the windows. Between Covid-19 and the diamond grids there was a 90 day delay in getting the glass from the glass manufacturer at no fault of Gilkey. Their staff kept us fully informed along the way. They installed a total of 19 windows for us. Their installer, Anthony, and his crew were awesome. It took them 4 days to complete and properly install, insulate and wrap the windows. In all, it was worth the delay. Very happy with Gilkey and we would highly recommend.

We already had Gilkey windows in the back of our house for several years and needed new ones in the front to replace NuSash which have gone out of business. Our only thought was to use Gilkey. Installed our windows 15 years ago and were pleased with them, so we had them recently replace our sliding glass patio door. Had to wait about 4 months for installation, but it was worth it. Door was quickly and seamlessly replaced. Insulation is superior to previous one. Materials were good quality and the work was professionally and neatly done.

I had a sliding glass door with mini blinds installed from Gilkey a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! It slides so effortlessly and the energy efficient glass along with the blinds do a great job blocking out the sun. We purchased our condo approximately 2 years ago and have done several renovations but at the time left the windows off the list to save some cost. At the time Gilkey was not on the list of our Association approved windows. The condo still had the original aluminum frame single hung windows and 4-5 windows had the seals broken (foggy). During cold weather they would ice up and we could feel airflow from around the blinds.Once looking to finally upgrade the windows, Gilkey had been added as an option. We researched them online as well as visited their showroom. Our salesman was very knowledgable and professional in all our discussions. We were impressed to see a local company put out such a quality product. It was also nice to know that if we ever have an issue they are just down the road. After talking with and getting quotes from 3 window companies we are very pleased to have chosen Gilkey Window Company.They were installed in early January; probably not the best idea; but the installation guys were great. They done an incredible job on all the little details. They were also more than willing to discuss any concerns I had during the installation. They addressed any and all items I mentioned.Of course right after the installation the weather warmed up to and I was a little bummed to not get to fully test out the cold weather performance. If you're from the Midwest you know weather can change quickly and once again the cold weather hit. The windows performed just as I had hoped. No icing, air leaks, or even moisture on the inside. An unexpected performance aspect of these windows was reduction in sound level inside. We can typically always here some traffic from a highway not too far away. After the window installation my wife called me into one of the back rooms and said "just listen". Was incredible how quiet it was after the window replacement. Really happy we chose Gilkey for the job.Like any good review nothing is perfect and so it should be mentioned. Neither of these are necessarily pings against Gilkey. Remember that any high efficiency window replacement will likely take up more depth. Our windows were drywall finished into the aluminum frame and thus our custom blinds fit nicely inside the window casing. After the replacement there was only a little more than on inch of space left. Luckily this was enough to use our same blinds. The other issue is kind of in regards to the same thing as far as the drywall finishing around and into the windows. We have always had some drywall cracking even with the old windows as things shift between temperature seasons. So obviously be prepared to do a little drywall/paint touchup if you have a similar window setup to what we had. Window replacement is difficult and I thought the Gilkey crew did a great job in minimizing any touch up work.Thanks again for a great job and great product.

Gilkey stands by their products! No hassles. No hoops to jump thru. We bought a house that had Gilkey windows installed 15 years ago. Some of the seals on the windows had gone bad and the windows were cloudy. I called Gilkey of Louisville and made an appt with Paul for him to come see the windows in question. He arrived on time and was very professional. He ordered the replacement panes and a few weeks later he called to schedule the install. Again he arrived on time and was very professional. My old windows with new panes look like new. My old windows still look like new too! I don't see this kind of service very much these days. They built a new wood frame and encased it with a covering product - all done out of the back of their truck! It required an extra day of work and I was not asked to pay more. We had a bay window installed. Delivery and installation were on time and the installers were also on time on the appointed day and time. The installation was very professionally accomplished by Charlie and Brent. There was a hole in one of the screens so it will be repaired and returned. The metal in between the glass was some what distorted and that will be replaced. This just a minor aesthetic rather than a functional matter. All in all, we have a beautiful new bay window.

I bought a house 3 years ago that already had Gilkey Replacement Windows. Come to find out, they were installed in 1997. Well long story short, I have 3 windows that the tilting mechanism (Clips that lock the window in place) have broken off on one side. No problem for The Gilkey Window Company. Gilkey Window Co. salesman was well informed and answered all our questions completely. A hands-on product demo (using a scale model) helped with our decision too. Costs very competitive. Time estimates and impact of COVID on their system for production/delivery/installation were realistic. Installation of 10 windows in our home took two skilled & experienced installers only one day. Installers called ahead for arrival time. Old window removal and new window installation was done very well. Installer attention to detail (squaring frame precisely for perfect window opening/closing and seal as well as silicone sealing inside and out) was really done quite satisfactorily. Altogether our experience (and about 2 weeks after install) with Gilkey Window Co. has been very pleasing.

Took 4 months due to the pandemic to get the door. Once a date and time were scheduled they let me know. A little more expensive than other companies; however, the salesman, Tom Bush, knew the products and had a vision for my dilemma. I replaced a set of French doors leading to my deck with a standard size door and window. The other companies that came to give an estimate had no samples and were not able to do the project as I wanted, since their products are not custom made. Tom made my request a reality. Everything happened within the time frame he promised. When the two gentlemen came to install the new door and window, they were just as great as the salesman. I am so happy I decided to use Gilkey Windows. As an added bonus, my monthly electric bill has improved too. I would not hesitate to use Gilkey Windows in the future. Kelly did a great job of educating me during the sales call and Tom did a great job of getting my install scheduled when promised. Andrew and Nathan were my install team. They arrived on time and got right to work. They worked very efficiently, payed close attention to the details and cleaned up afterwards well. They had to come back to finish the the outside trim because it started raining, but they were back early the next morning and finished up quickly. What a huge difference the new windows have made! No more drafts, and very minimal noise from nearby I-71. I had Gilkey do two of my previous homes and their superior service and product had me call them again. Their windows seem to be well made and highly rated. They were decently priced for the quality. And their salesperson was not a hard-sell person, which I appreciated. All of that is why I chose them. But two or more of their people screwed up our order. I had specifically asked them to make a window that would fit the window a/c unit that I already had. It was clearly specified on the order ! Yet on installation day, they showed up with a window that didn't match the specs ! They had to put in a new order to remake it. They came back over a month later to reinstall it. In the meantime, I had to buy an additional inefficient portable a/c unit that I didn't want, so that mom could have a/c. ... The following are updated comments to my original review. At first they didn't seem to care that this inconvenience was an issue when I called them about it. But after I called them out in this review, they did reimburse the cost of the additional portable a/c unit I had to buy. I gave them an additional star in my rating, now. But there is now an issue with one of the windows not sealing out the cold air which I need to address with them. Hence not a full 5 stars .

We had all the window in our home replaced with Gilkey windows 10-15 years ago and Gilkey has stayed true to all aspects of their warranty. A few years ago they replaced the screens for all of our windows promptly . Today Paul one of the service tech came to our home to fix a window spring. Paul was on time, very professional and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. We have been very pleased with Gilkey windows and highly recommend!

The sales person was professional and did not pressure to purchase. Installers were personable long time employees who were responsive to changing some caulking colors they used. One door that was installed was not the door we ordered. Gilkey reordered and installed a new door 5 weeks later. Second crew flipped two of my lock knobs around as requested. The Provia doors look very good.

We had 3 replacement windows installed; 2 bow windows and a horizontal slider. The installation went smoothly. Once finished, you could not tell the installers were there. Both inside and outside the construction areas were spotless once they were done. The windows are fiberglass, triple pane and very solidly built. We are very satisfied with the initial quality and installation but will wait and see how they perform during a harsh winter and summer storm season.

I wanted to wait a couple weeks after my window install was completed before I reviewed. We had several window companies come and give us estimates for windows in our entire house which included two large bow windows in the front. The estimate from Gilkey came in right in line with a couple and a fair bit cheaper that two companies and the window that I was getting from Gilkey was a better product. Kelly Lockman, from Gilkey, helped us with choosing the right windows to replace the old bow windows in the front of the house, 100% improvement on curb appeal. Once the windows were manufactured we scheduled the install and off we went. I can not compliment the installation crew enough, my house is not the easiest house to work on with lots of ladder trips but they knocked out the work in 2 1/2 days, I was quite impressed.We have not received our first electricity bill yet with the windows installed but I will be surprised if there isn’t quite an energy savings and we have already noticed an increase in our comfort. 10/10 would go with Gilkey again if we move and require new windows or doors.

The windows in the home I purchased needed to be replaced. The thought of replacing 12 windows seemed daunting and not sure as how to begin the process. Gilkey Windows was recommended to us so we called an scheduled an appointment. The salesman was very knowledgeable about their product and explained all the features without pressuring us. When we decided to replace our front entry door this spring we considered a number of companies, but we had a patio slider replaced with a Gilkey slider a number of years ago and it had been an excellent experience. I am extremely happy with my Gilkey experience! Neil our sales rep was such a pleasure to work with. We just bought a house in Downers Grove and the back door was original from 1988. It was falling apart, didn't fit right, wouldn't close or lock properly. It swung into the kitchen area which was a poor design as the only spot for a proper kitchen table was right by the door. We needed this space converted to a sliding patio door. The installers worked fast, but did an excellent job and I couldn't be happier. My wife loves the sliding door and it looks beautiful! Take this to the bank....the price was only slightly better than what we were quoted by the big box stoors, but the quality is 10x better! I'll never use anyone else for doors and windows. Gilkey is the real deal and I'm so glad I called them. I hear about Gilkey all the time on WGN and radio and that's the initial reason I called.

We used Gilkey Windows to replace some of the windows and the sliding glass doors in our home. They were wonderful from start to finish. They kept in touch through the process, letting us know when they had received approval from our village to do the replacement, when our windows were being produced, and then coordinated a convenient date and time for installation. I was not home when they installed them, but my husband was and he said they were professional and very thorough in making sure the installation was done properly. Once installed they showed my husband how to use the various features. We love our new windows and will be using Gilkey again when we are ready to replace the rest of the windows in our home.

Our Gilkey Windows and Doors were installed in 2004 and we noticed a reduction in our heating and A/C right away.
But the recent, November 2018 ice storm with major power outages was a reminder.
We usually keep our heating around 72 degrees. Even after the power out for 20 hours..the temperature in the house did not go under 62 degrees.
The Gilkey Windows quality had a very positive affect in keeping the warm air in and the cold air out!

I called the service department at Gilkey because it looked like the glass in one of my outside doors had lost the gas inside. Justin had the guys come out and take a look and they measured for a replacement. It took a few weeks for the glass to come in but they were able to come out quickly and install it. Doug the installation manager also stopped by to make sure things were right with the final install. Over all everything looks great and I would use Gilkey again.

I originally with Jeff from Gilley at the Sharonville show and setup an appointment to have him look at our casement wood windows. Jeff was very professional worked up a gave time to decided how wanted to move forward. We interviewed a couple of other companies and ultimately decided to go with locally owned Gilley Windows. Once we ordered our new front windows, we knew it would take some time to manufacture them. They were done earlier than expected. When they called to set up an installation, it happened within the week. The installers were on time, kept the house very clean and the mess to a small location and actually put up plastic. Gilkey windows are excellent windows but after 20 years one of the balance mechanisms broke. Paul came out and assessed the situation, ordered the parts and fixed the issue. But what impressed me most was his professionalism, attention to detail, communication and timely manner. Very pleased with the product and service.

We had our first Gilkey windows installed over ten years ago in a sun room, and were so pleased we replaced the windows through out the house. We just had some of those replaced in the sunroom that had become cloudy. They look wonderful! April and Paul had the job complete in only a couple of hours and with the lifetime replacement warranty, the materials and labor was only $100. You can't beat Gilkey for quality and service.
